East Indian Lemongrass
Cymbopogon citratus from the Poaceae family. Lemongrass is a reed like aromatic grass that is cultivated in south america and asia. It can be up to 10 ft. high, with coarse reed like leaves and a strong citrus aroma, often used in vietnamese and asian food.Tthe essential oil is used in perfumery of which there are two kinds - west indian and east indian. We use the east indian because it is more lemony, sweet and potent.
